Physiotherapist​

Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy from the University of Malta in 2016. Inspired by her lifelong passion for movement and dance, she continued her postgraduate training with a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of South Wales before completing a Master’s degree in Performing Arts Medicine at University College London (UCL).

Why does Michelle have a special interest in dancers and performers?

As a former dancer herself, Michelle understands the unique physical demands of dance and the performing arts. She enjoys helping dancers, musicians and performing artists recover from injury, optimise performance and return confidently to the activities they love.

Her advanced training in Performing Arts Medicine, combined with evidence-based physiotherapy, allows her to provide rehabilitation programmes tailored to the specific needs of performers at every level.

What else does Michelle treat?

Alongside her work with dancers and performers, Michelle has a special interest in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. She has completed specialist training through the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) group in the UK, enabling her to assess and treat antenatal, postnatal and pelvic health conditions.

Michelle is also certified in Clinical Pilates through the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI), incorporating Pilates-based rehabilitation to improve strength, movement and long-term recovery.

Michelle’s approach

Michelle believes the best outcomes come from understanding the person behind the injury. She combines the latest evidence-based research with careful assessment, education and personalised rehabilitation to help every patient move with confidence and achieve their goals.

Alongside her clinical work, Michelle has several years of experience leading Dance for Parkinson’s classes in Malta, reflecting her passion for using movement to improve health, wellbeing and quality of life.
